The Pediatric Sleep Medicine Center, in the Division of Pediatric Pulmonary and Sleep Medicine at the Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children’s Hospital of Chicago and Northwestern University’s Feinberg School of Medicine seeks a full-time pediatric sleep medicine specialist to join a busy and productive academic pediatric sleep medicine program. This position is offered on the Clinician Educator track (MD or DO) and will be hired as an Instructor, Assistant Professor or Associate Professor depending on qualifications. Board certification (ABMS/ABSM) or board eligibility (ABMS) in Sleep Medicine is required. An academic appointment at Northwestern University’s Feinberg School of Medicine will be awarded, commensurate with achievement. Salary will be commensurate with qualifications.
The candidate would join a team of 2.5 pediatric sleep physicians, one PhD sleep behavioral psychologist, and one PA dedicated to the comprehensive care of children with sleep disorders. The AASM accredited Pediatric Sleep Medicine Center has active comprehensive programs in all aspects of clinical pediatric sleep medicine including obstructive and central sleep apnea, narcolepsy, movement disorders, parasomnias, circadian rhythm disorders, non-invasive positive pressure ventilation all in a quaternary academic pediatric setting. The Center has an expandable 6 bed outpatient pediatric sleep laboratory and the capacity to perform 2 fully-attended inpatient sleep studies within Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children’s Hospital of Chicago. There are also comprehensive clinical programs and 4 outpatient beds at a second AASM accredited satellite center in Westchester, Illinois, and a new combined center with Northwestern Center for Sleep and Circadian Biology at Grayslake, Illinois. Clinical care is also provided at Almost Home Kids (a transitional and technology-dependent program for children in Chicago and Naperville, Illinois). The Sleep Medicine center actively leads and participates in a myriad of clinical research activities. Substantial opportunity exists to participate in the education of medical students, residents and fellows in pulmonary and sleep medicine. Opportunities to participate and provide mentorship in clinical research are also available.
