Position Summary:

The Sleep Technologist performs a variety of sleep studies to diagnose the type and extent of disorders. The Sleep Technologist works closely with patients to diagnose and determine therapy for patients with a variety of disorders related to sleep. Technologists record and score sleep data and prepare raw data for physician and/or research interpretation.

Salary Range:

Minimum Midpoint Maximum

Hourly Rate $34.39 $39.88 $45.37

Required Qualifications:
  • 3 + years direct patient care experience in a Sleep Disorder clinic, with a minimum of 2 years as an RPSGT
  • Registered Polysomnographic Technologist through the BRPT
  • Registration through the Medical Board of California as a Polysomnographic Technologist
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships across the HealthSystem
  • Ability to function independently with minimal supervision
  • Ability to maintain a work pace appropriate to the workload
  • Associates degree, or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • BLS Required
  • Computer skills appropriate to the job
  • Demonstrated critical thinking and analytical skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
  • Must demonstrate customer service skills appropriate to the job
  • Must possess the skill, knowledge and ability essential to the successful performance of assigned duties
    Preferred Qualifications:
  • 6 months working in an accredited sleep center
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish
  • Digital and Analog equipment experience (BiPAP, AVAPS, ASV, oxygen titration and ETCO2/TcCO2)
  • Basic Arrhythmia Recognition and Treatment training (BART)
  • Bachelor's Degree in related field
  • Knowledge of University and medical center organizations, policies, procedures and forms
