Under the supervision of a licensed physician, the Respiratory Therapist/ Sleep Tech gathers artifact free polysomnographic data, performs analysis and make adjustments to therapeutic devices for patients with suspected sleep related breathing disorders.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS, DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Set-up and monitor polysomnography equipment.
Administer therapeutic interventions: CPAP, bilevel, ASV
Assist and educate patients in sleep disorder diagnosis, equipment and treatment.
Be able to troubleshoot sleep lab equipment problems.
Perform basic life support maneuvers.
Recognize and respond to critical events that can occur during sleep such as cardiac arrhythmias, seizures and other medical emergencies
Communicates with supervisor regarding equipment and inventory.
Maintains CPR certification.
Upon completion of interventions, documents accurately and thoroughly in the appropriate area of the patient record.
Annual completion of all required educational competencies.
Attend all mandatory in-service classes.
Maintains a clean and safe environment.
Displays professional attributes including but not limited to, punctuality, professional demeanor and presentation; cooperation with peers, other healthcare workers and patients.
Actively participates in performance improvement and quality assurance.
Accepts accountability for own actions.
Gather necessary documentation that supports sleep study orders.
Follow up with patients as needed.

Graduate of an AMA approved school for respiratory care.
Must be a CRT or RRT by the National Board for Respiratory Care.
Current Montana RCP Licensure.
Registered Polysomnographic Technologist (RPSGT) credential or 2 years experience with the ability to obtain the RPSGT credential within 18 months of hire.
Certified in Basic Life Support.
Ability to treat all information as confidential.
