Sleep Study Technologist Southern Maine Health Care Kennebunk, Maine Full time – Evenings/Nights
Southern Maine Healthcare is seeking a Sleepy Study Technologist in Kennebunk. The Sleep Studies Technologists are required to obtain the highest quality study acquisition and to deliver therapeutic and supportive care in a cost efficient and timely manner following physician orders and department policies and protocols. Test results directly affect diagnostic and treatment decisions. The majority of the work is done under minimal supervision. Sleep Study Technologists are required to act in a professional and courteous manner in interacting with patients, patient families, visitors, physicians, and other members of the hospital staff at all time. Most polysomnograms are done overnight. Daytime Procedures include but are not limited to split night, diagnostic and therapeutic polysomnogram (psg), with CPAP, Bilevel, and servo ventilation, supplemental oxygen MSLT, MWT, PAP mask fittings and acclimations, daytime psg, out of center sleep testing (HST), manual scoring of sleep studies, and outpatient overnight oximetry. Sleep Studies Technologists are required to adapt to technical advances in the field and learn new equipment and procedures as they are introduced. Sleep Studies Technologists report to the Sleep Lab Manager.
