Job Summary This Night Staff Nurse will be responsible for:
Triaging sleep study requests, allocating resources and plan of care for a successful, safe sleep study
Clinical assessment, safety huddles, and clinical decision making of patients admitted into the sleep lab for study
Collaboration and provision of care strategies for sleep technologists
Patient and family education regarding disease management
Assessing, planning, implementing, evaluating and modifying plans of care in collaboration with APN and MD providers
Provide ongoing care coordination
Opportunity to contribute to research and evidence based practice development
Working 36 hours per week, night shift 7 pm to 7 am (Weekend requirement to shift to every 3rd weekend after training and with full staffing levels)
To qualify, you must have:
Bachelor of Science in Nursing
2 years of Pediatric RN experience; with inpatient setting experience and Neuroscience or Pulmonary experience preferred.
Ability to set priorities when organizing care for patients with varying acuity.
Collaborative teamwork abilities.
Knowledge of pediatrics and family centered care.
Ability to function autonomously using the nursing process.
Strong problem-solving skills, excellent oral and written communication skills.
**Sign-on bonus of $4,500.00 for 36 hour RN hires (who have not worked at BCH in the past 2 years.) For hires made after 11/3/21.
This is a night position within our growing outpatient sleep laboratory, where sleep studies are performed for patients with complex medical needs. The nurse is responsible in providing clinical support and health monitoring, analyzing and interpreting patient information to determine individualized care needs for patients and their families in collaboration with polysomnographic technologists and physicians. The nurse will work among a dynamic team within the ambulatory sleep lab to ensure care needs are met while maintaining sleep laboratory protocols.
