The UF Health - Precision Health Research Center (PHRC) in The Villages, FL, hosted within the Clinical and Translational Science Institute (CTSI) seeks an enthusiastic and qualified individual to fill the OPS Sleep Technician position. This position will work with research coordinators to observe participants during sleep research studies aimed at improving health care quality, outcomes and well-being for older adults. The sleep tech must be comfortable working with older adults and have experience as a polysomnography technician. Strong communication skills, the ability to work independently, and high motivation to deliver quality products are necessary.
Able to prepare and hook up patients for polysomnography, perform and score sleep studies according to AASM criteria
Able to set up, operate, maintain and troubleshoot the polysomnographic and other related equipment during the research study
Follow lab processes and procedures and take instruction/guidance from senior research team members.
Able and comfortable using new technology as part of preparing patients for polysomnography and scoring sleep studies
Data Collection and Reporting
Assisting with data collection and reporting while maintaining the highest standards of data integrity and compliance with the study protocol.
Lab Safety and Adherence:
Read, comprehend, and implement lab requirements listed in protocols and lab manuals
Maintain patient rooms by cleaning and disinfecting according to industry codes/ standards
Maintain organization of immediate working area and stockrooms
Provide a safe/comfortable environment for the study participant
Adhere to safety standards for the facility, participant rooms, and unit areas and research study protocols
Participate in all required meetings and training sessions as necessary.
Other miscellaneous duties as assigned.
Performs other duties as assigned
High school diploma plus two years of experience in a sleep lab. Certification with a nationally recognized polysomnography organization is preferred.
