Tell me about the role:
Tower Sleep Medicine is a leader in the diagnosis and treatment of sleep disorders. This position predominately requires performance of overnight polysomnograms. A sleep technologist works under the general supervision of the medical director to provide comprehensive evaluation, including sleep testing, diagnostic and therapeutic interventions, comprehensive patient care and direct patient education.
Job duties and responsibilities:

The sleep medicine technologist with work under direct clinical supervision of the sleep medicine physician. The duties will include but are not limited to sleep study preparation and setup and scoring of home sleep testing devices, direct patient interaction and support with positive airway pressure related issues, oversight of home sleep study logistics, and polysomnogram scoring.

Collect, analyze and integrate patient information in order to identify and meet the patient-specific needs.

Determine final testing parameters/procedures in conjunction with the ordering physician or clinical director and laboratory protocols.

Explain procedures and orient the patient for sleep testing. .

Select appropriate equipment and calibrate for testing to determine proper functioning and make adjustments, if necessary; apply electrodes and sensors according to accepted published standards.

Assist provider in examination/procedure rooms as needed.

Perform designated diagnostic tests as directed by provider.

Perform data acquisition while monitoring study-tracing quality to ensure signals are artifact-free. Identify, correct and document artifact. Document routine observations, including sleep stages and clinical events, changes in procedure, and other significant events in order to facilitate scoring and interpretation of plysomnographic results. room/procedure rooms appropriately based on patient visit needs.

Perform patient education and instruction appropriate for sleep testing.

Current California Registered Polysomnographic Technologist license and RPSGT credential issued by the Board of Registered Polysomnographic Technologists required, however, we invite out of state applicants to apply must have CA license upon hire
