The Registered Polysomnographer works under general supervision in a laboratory to conduct sleep studies. He or she performs comprehensive testing, data analysis and treatment of sleep disorders. This includes patient interviews, education and explanation of polysomnographic tests and procedures; maintenance and monitoring of equipment; as well as collaboration with others on the medical care team.

Additional Information: Successful completion of an accredited educational program leading to an Associate's Degree with emphasis in Polysomnography and Certification by the Board of Registered Polysomnographic Technologists as a Registered Polysomnographic Technologist OR successful completion of a Polysomnography program with a minimum of 1 year associated with a state licensed and/or a nationally accredited educational facility AND Certification by the Board of Registered Polysomnographic Technologists as a Registered Polysomnographic Technologist.
