We are seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Polysomnographic Technologist to join our team. This role is essential in providing high-quality care to patients undergoing sleep studies and evaluations. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of sleep medicine, physiology, and diagnostic evaluation techniques. As a Polysomnographic Technologist, you will play a critical role in diagnosing sleep disorders and contributing to the overall health and well-being of our patients.
Duties
Conduct comprehensive sleep studies, including polysomnography/ MWT/MSLT, to assess patients' sleep patterns and disorders.
Monitor and record vital signs throughout the study, ensuring accurate data collection.
Perform diagnostic evaluations using various equipment and techniques related to sleep medicine.
Collaborate with healthcare providers to interpret results and develop treatment plans for patients.
Maintain knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology as it pertains to sleep disorders.
Ensure the proper functioning of all equipment used during sleep studies and perform routine maintenance as needed.
Provide patient education regarding procedures, equipment usage, and follow-up care.
Document findings accurately in patient records and communicate effectively with the healthcare team.
Experience Candidates should have experience or knowledge in the following areas:
Vital signs monitoring
Physiology related to sleep medicine
Diagnostic evaluation techniques for sleep disorders
Respiratory therapy principles
Conducting physical examinations relevant to sleep health
Familiarity with medical terminology associated with polysomnography
Understanding of anatomy as it relates to sleep studies
Experience working in a sleep center or similar healthcare environment
