Key Responsibilities:
Sleep Study Prep: Review patient history, verify medical orders, explain procedures and prepare and calibrate testing equipment.
Polysomnographic Procedures: Ensure accurate data collection, maintain continuous monitoring and implement necessary interventions for patient safety.
Patient Education: Train patients on home sleep testing equipment and ensure accurate data download.
Documentation: Record observations, changes in procedures and clinical events for accurate polysomnographic result interpretation.
Post-Testing Procedures: Clean, sterilize and maintain equipment, adhering to safety and infection control protocols.
Performance Improvement: Participate in quality assurance measures and evaluate the effectiveness of sleep tests.
What We’re Looking For:
Education: High School Diploma or GED; completion of college-level math and science coursework.
Experience: Knowledge and skills to provide age-specific care and perform sleep equipment hook-up and monitoring.
Certification: Registered Polysomnographer Technologist (RPSGT) upon hire, Basic Life Support (BLS) within 90 days, and Heartsaver First Aid CPR AED Instructor within 90 days.
Skills: Computer proficiency and compliance with regulatory standards and guidelines.
Preferred Qualifications:
Education: Associate degree
Experience: Familiarity with the EPIC EHR
