Shift/Schedule:
This is a full-time position with shifts of 12 hours, available for day or night schedules. The Stanford Sleep Disorders Clinic operates six nights a week, Sunday through Friday. Sleep Technologist III is responsible for laboratory setup, patient hookups, and performing and evaluating overnight polysomnograms. The technologist operates sophisticated medical equipment to record sleep and wake physiology. They work as a team member to perform the tasks required for each shift. Tasks, methods, and procedures are set according to international standards, guidelines, and Sleep Clinic policies and procedures. The schedule includes day, or night shifts.

What you will do
Accurately and safely place sensors, electrodes, and leads on the patient, according to Clinic policy and procedures.
Accurately and securely apply electrodes and sensors to the patient, using universal standards and in accordance with Clinic policy and procedures.
Adequately instruct patients on the hookup procedure and testing process.
Properly fit the patient for a nasal mask during titration tests.
Respond appropriately to patient care needs.
Conduct urine screens according to Hospital policy and procedures.
Correctly recognize and eliminate artifacts during data collection to meet quality standards.
Generate a comprehensive technologist report reflecting testing procedures, patient testing outcomes, and environmental influences.
Perform CPAP and BiPAP titrations according to Sleep Clinic policies and procedures.
Perform data acquisition according to established protocols and procedures.
Provide comprehensive technologist notes and log sheets during polysomnographic testing.
Administer medications per physician orders and in accordance with Hospital policies and procedures.
Experience Qualifications
Three (3) years of progressively responsible and directly related work experience
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Ability to apply judgment and make informed decisions
Ability to foster effective working relationships and build consensus
Ability to solve problems and identify solutions
Ability to speak and write effectively at a level appropriate for the job
Knowledge and competency in all aspects of Polysomnographic testing, procedures and utilization
Knowledge and understanding of common Sleep Disorders and utilization of electronic systems
Knowledge of computer systems and software used in functional area
Knowledge of new technologies (in specific field) and maintain and stay abreast of updates and changes
Licenses and Certifications
